Chong Ming Island One Day Treval

Yesterday I drove to Chong Ming island - the third isolate island in China. Since bridge or tunnel between Shanghai city and the Chong Ming island, my car and me had to be ferry there.

After long time waiting, ferry left Bao Yang dock to Chong Ming island. Shipping time was about 1 hr and 20 mins by low speed. On return way I waited much more time for ferry, but finished reading a book (”OUR”, Author: Jiang Yang) during waiting time.

Dongtan is the eastern beach of Chong Ming island. It is 35KM far from Bao Zhen dock. Shanghai goverment set up public nature protection zone there for migratory birds. It is one of the four protection zones in Shanghai.

I hoped I can shot some kinds of birds there. I felt such disappointed finally because there were less than 3 birds in sight at that time.

A couple-bodies ship was sailing on Yangtse River. River was yellow, dirty but sky was blue and cloudy.

Great pictures but do not capture the complexity and variances of the terraine of this island. There are big trees and neat little places with trees. These pictures give the impression that CM Island is a flat defoliated swamp. But, great pictures nonetheless. Thanks, Paul
