Since the theme ‘Techniques of the Visible’ (影像生存 in Chinese) is such attractive for me, I visited International Shanghai Biennale at Shanghai Art Museum in this afternoon. It exactlly is a good occasion to showcase of art production. The only one concern before visit was whether I can read the philosophy emerge from productions.
What did I see
Over 4 hrs was spent in Shanghai art museum, I walked around whole exhibition hall. Be honest actually I read only few productions even I looked into most of them by long time. Especially the abstract 行为艺术 is hard to read, some quiescent objects plus lighting. What does it mean? A artist friend has told me that real art is observing things and behaviors by most pristine eyes such as baby’s. I tried to sit in the front of some productions and look into them, of coz failed.

Who visited the exhibition
Most of visitors were young people. I also met many foreigner visitors in the hall. It is interesting that some visitors like to be took photos with the art production such as large sized photo, after that they moved to next beautiful production quickly. The behavior is hard to understand, in my mind the productions should be observed and read seriously instead of being photo background.
Certainly there were some real art enthusiasts, they were looking into productions very serious, noting and taking photos. I followed a old man with long white hair for half hour until he disappeared in restroom, his explanation of meaning of productions was very brilliant.

What do I think
Recently I am thinking about the most important element in photography. I understand that fatal visible attraction is comprised of three parts: color, principle object and composition. How to make them to be together perfectly in photo? So photography and painting art productions were my focus in this afternoon and I obtained some elicitations from some great productions. They would be presented by my future photos.
