Downtown tour

No session in this morning I went to JW Dobbs Ave. to visit 2 museums scheduled at yesterday night. No session no shuttle, so have to walk. I was remiss of date - today is Sunday. Most of this kind of places were closed in SUN.

After all session closing I walked to Marta (Atlanta Subway alias) GWCC/CNN station and spent $10 bought 6 coin-tickets with 2 25 cents coins return. Finally I got out from GSU station and walk arround GSU ‘campus’ - actually no campus, it was separate by interlaced streets. As Atlanta was early southern army center during US civil war, here is filled with black people and black culture. Many drivers, crew even beggers are black people. Most of them are friendly but few is not. A fat black women shout to me to take away camera out of her sight in this afternoon however 1 min later a black city police kindly took picture for me under PeachTree 100 building.

A interesting thing is that I met a black couple on return way. The Sir was taking a Canon digital camera - 10D and lying on ground to take feature photo for the lady very very seriously. I thought he must be a super PG fan and be lovestruck. :) Of course I record this cene, please look at last photo.

Exciting day

Only Bill can win such kind of respect. All attendees stood up with shout and applause for his showing up as far as he had to say it was too much to hold our enthusiasm. Genius always surprises us. Bill with MSR guys demo some really cool next generation technologies include infomation isolation, media integration and personal memories collection. I have to believe Microsoft is a wondrously great company within lots of talents.

Here are 3 important messages from general session.
1 MSN has been a profitability center but not a cost center. Longer pain term passed.
2 .NET usage is much more than J2EE overall till now.
3 Windows server marketshare has exceeded UNIX commercial market.

My manager bought meal for our team in this evening because he won a big award and had dinner & conference with Billg and SteveB. We had dinner in a so-called Chinese restaurant for it’s shop description is “Chinese, Japanese and Thai Cuisine”.Out of our expactation it was fairish.

Arriving Atlanta

After long long time flying I have arrived Atlanta. From SHA to SFO 11:47 . From SFO to ATL 4:00. Tough trip. In second period I seldom slept because I drunk a cup of Statbucks coffee at SFO airport and bought a US magazine - Photographic. :)
It is a beautiful city. I live in Georgian Terrace Hotel - Atlanta’s Historic Suite Hotel locating in downtown center. Check it out from www.thegrogianterrace.com . I took some pics of famous building like coca-cola HQ tower and CNN HQ tower beside hotel building.

I went to Georgia Intl. Congress Center to complete registeration and walked around in ATL Olympic Park with colleagues because a M$ welcome party was lunching there and feeling tired due to long time flying in economy class :(. It was toilsome espacially for tall me. Have to shower and sleep now.

A black MM called me to take her pic, I did. US people greet me . Haha
